Are you struggling to lose body fat? ⁣

When it comes to losing body fat, there are many factors that determine progress or plateau... and it’s not just calories.
  • POOR SLEEP
  • EXCESS STRESS
  • POOR GUT HEALTH
  • QUALITY OF FOOD
  • SURPLUS OF CALORIES (Over Eating)
  • TOXICITY⁣
  1. Poor sleep can greatly affect your progress. In fact it can hinder metabolism, mood, drive, recovery and much more.
  2. Excess stress whether psychological or physical can also impact as it depletes precursors and materials you need to enter parasympathetic mode. ⁣
  3. Gut health is a huge player in your progress. Make sure phase 3 of detoxification pathways are working (excretion), there are no pains, discomfort or unexplained bloating. Poor gut health will impact metabolism, stress and overall progress ⁣
  4. Quality of food is extremely important. You aren’t what you eat. You are what you eat and absorb. Poor quality food choices are deficient in micronutrients, may be hard to breakdown in the gut which can cause inflammation and other issues.
  5. Excess calories is simple. Calories over your baseline maintenance = weight gain. For weight loss/fat loss you need to be in a deficit of calories ⁣
  6. Toxicity. Heavy metals or poor detoxification pathways of the liver can cause plenty of issues. High copper can down regulate HCL production, stopping your potential to breakdown food and fight pathogens. Make sure your phase 1, phase 2 and phase 3 pathways are in order. There are many tests to help identify toxicity issues such as hair, stool, blood and organic acids. See a qualified practitioner.

In today's society we expect results FAST! The fastest approach when it come to achieving body composition results, respects the holistic approach by keeping in mind the above points.

3 quick tips that can be of value to your fat loss journey: 

  • Start your day with 1/2 a lime squeezed into room temp water with 1/4 tsp of himalayan pink salt. This will help nourish your adrenals, aid the stress response and also aid digestion by alkalising the digestive environment, aiding in digestive and detoxification processes.
  • If you regard yourself as a "stressed" out individual YOU NEED MAGNESIUM. I have written a seperate blog on the different types, benefits and dose of magnesium. You can find this on the Blog section of this website
  • Gratitude Journal. You want to get lean. Appreciate the day. Before bed write down what you were grateful for that day. Find a few areas of life that truly held gratitude. This will help enter a parasympathetic state, decreasing the sympathetic stress response and sets you up for a good night sleep. Don't turn on the TV or touch your phone once you have written in your gratitude journal as this will elevate the sympathetic state.
