MPH Physique & Bikini Athlete Results At The ICN North Coast Physique Competition 2022

Last weekend we had a few of our physique athletes compete at the ICN north coast competition, NEX Newcastle. We are extremely proud of each athlete as they all had unique preps, length of time to prep and produced competitive physiques to each of their walkouts.

It was a big day with shows starting at 10am and finishing at 6pm. As always, it was a great community and for myself the show itself was run quite well with enough room for pump up, seating for the spectators and also the stage was very well presented.

Each athlete achieved podium winning positions and more importantly improved to bring their best with each walkout.

Mens physique athlete Bailey (pictured above) had a 12 week prep for this competition. I was happy with his conditioning as he was most conditioned on stage. Baileys body weight in the whole prep remained around 68-69kg. The focus was to build and retain as much muscle as we could for competition. So we basically achieved recomposition all the way into the show. We achieved this by finding maintenance calories early, having 1-2 days of refeeds weekly at maintenance and having 5-6 days in a slight deficit to achieve conditioning and fat loss.

Bailey will be competing at states in a few weeks time. I will give him more of a bigger carb load a few days out to bring in more fullness as from judges feedback they wanted some more size. Overall very happy with the results as Bailey was in the top 2 for each walkout.

Bikini athlete Lea looked awesome over the weekend. The bikini class is extremely competitive and popular which is fantastic as it brings out the competitive best in the athlete.

It was a much bigger prep for Lea. Starting in lockdown before getting up onto the stage we focused on recomposition. I put a big focus on improving Leas glutes, posterior chain and delts. While focusing on getting the waist small. We also lost around 10.8cm off Leas thighs to suit the bikini criteria.

Leas attitude was a stand out as she gained more confidence with each walkout and embraced the experience. This helped her achieve some podium finishes as stage presence is key for bikini.

We are now in comp prep for Season B ICN. Focusing on more conditioning and leaning out the lower body to take her physique to the next level ! Well done.

Jennifer and MPH coach Dana achieved a beautiful package and presentation to the competition. Jen achieved podium finishes once again in a very competitive bikini division.

A big focus was to achieve a nice X frame with a strong ration of Glutes:Waist and Waist:Shoulders. This is very important for the Bikini division. Jen was extremely organised and handled the day like a true athlete. Posing improved with each walkout.

This was a fantastic achievement and challenge for Jen to see what she could achieve with her body and her mind.... and she did just that.

Now in prep for states in a few weeks time we will focus on conditioning and presentation with the focus on beating her last presentation.

Comp prep is always about being the best YOU can be. It is always a great way to see what you can achieve with your body and mind. I am looking forward to these athletes future shows + the shows of our other physique athletes that are coming up shortly.
