ICN Natural Physique Competition - South Coast Championship Results 23/10/20

Jennifer Eggers & Coach Mick - South Coast ICN Championships - 23/10/20

This previous weekend ICN hosted it's Season B South Coast Champions. This is a natural physique competition and Mind Performance Health had two athletes represent.

What makes this event special is the circumstance of covid-19. All events were closed in 2020 due to the lockdown and this was the first event back.

Our special client Jennifer Eggers competed in female fitness model and sports model categories. I also competed in the Male Physique category.

During the lockdown both myself and Jen held strong as per plan as we were both meant compete in June. For obvious reasons that did not happen due to lockdown and cancellation of events. A lot of competitors actually dropped off, which is understandable during that weird time in the world. Jen and myself however decided to hold and continue the mission, even with no date set to compete.

The hard work paid off and we dialled in for the South Coast Championships once events came back to life in Australia.

Body Composition Changes:

Starting Body Fat: 23%
Competition Body Fat: 9%

Whats more important is the life changing transformation. When Jen first came to us she was a complete beginner to strength training. Over a year she built a strong, confident and lean physique. Ultimately this also was proven with her consistent podium finishes.

A quick summary of training and nutrition: Training was carefully planned to peak over time so that we could be in the best shape come showtime. We worked on specific areas of physique improvement that included quads, hamstrings and Jens upper back. We used many different methods at specific times that ranged from descending stage systems, high frequency training and giants sets to achieve her physique.

Nutrition was higher carbohydrate to fuel the workouts. Higher protein for muscle retention/synthesis and a healthy fat range for optimal health while in prep. We used diet breaks at maintenance calories and even had jens total calories up near 2500 calories at certain stages, while still losing body fat and building lean mass.

I am very proud of Jen as during a time when the world was perceived weak.... Jen stayed strong. Well done champion.

For myself I achieved the following results:

🥇 Male Physique 30+

🥇 Male Physique Novice

I was very grateful for the accomplishments. The aim of the game is always to bring a better package than my previous walk out. With a longer prep I was able to maintain a lot more muscle mass while bringing in better conditioning. The addition of diet breaks back at maintenance, slow increases of volume and smart programming helped achieve a better package.

I learnt some new skills and awareness in regards to intuition, experience and communication. All of which I can takeaway and help my clients achieve better physiques and stronger minds.

The hard work is not completed just yet. Both Jen and Myself have ICN State Championships in a weeks time. The aim...... bring a better package that we produced at South Coast Championships!
